Parks & Recreation
A dominant environmental feature of the Town is the Niagara escarpment, a limestone ridge which runs roughly north and south through the middle of the Town. Locally this feature is known as the “Ledge.” With mostly low-trafficked roads, scenic beauty, and topography, Ledgeview was the perfect place to create bike routes known as “loops” to provide an avenue for residents and visitors to explore and enjoy the nature-scape of Ledgeview by bicycle. Hence the Ledgeview Bike Loops Program. Get out and bike!
The Town purchased Ledgeview Golf Course in 2019 in order to preserve development rights and to keep the beautiful viewshed as part of Ledgeview’s heritage in perpetuity. Although the land is Town owned, the business is operated by a third party. The vision is to bring winter activity programming to the golf course, but for now let’s support the business by booking tee times, joining leagues, taking lessons, or simply enjoying a delicious meal with friends in the clubhouse. There’s something for everyone.
The Memorial & Sponsorship program allows residents to honor those who have touched their lives with a permanent commemorative gift. If there’s someone that you’d like to remember, to honor, or to simply make a donation to help support our vision for functional, safe, and aesthetically pleasing park facilities, visit this page for sponsorship opportunities.
Adopted plans can be found on this page such as: Park & Recreation Plan 2019-2024, Bike & Pedestrian Plan, Community Identification Guide, Viewshed Analysis, Community Sponsorship Guide, Ledgeview Loops Study & Loop Recommendation.
Parks are the perfect location to host birthdays, graduations, or retirement parties, as well as practice sports. Ledgeview Park’s open air shelter is close to playground equipment for the young and provides shade for those to keep an eye on their young at play. Our ball fields accommodate a variety of sports such as baseball, football, soccer, rugby, and la crosse. Make your reservations today!
