Community Development/Building Inspection

The Department of Community Development collaboratively works with the community, Town Board and Planning Commissions to expand opportunities for residents and workers, guide current growth and development, and plan for Ledgeview’s future.

The Department’s four divisions share a common goal to provide oversight and technical assistance on town planning and development. A few of the primary responsibilities of each division are listed below, for a complete overview of services please visit each division’s webpage.

Building Inspections & Zoning Administration – building permits, building inspections, zoning administration, and code information

Code Enforcement – safety hazards inspections, town code violations, field inspections to ensure compliance, and joint building inspections with other public agencies

Economic Development – community profile, business directory, business approval procedures, and links to business development tools and resources

Zoning and Planning – Planning and zoning regulations, adopted plans and maps, development approval procedures, guidelines for applications, forms and checklists.
